Synopsis: Amrik Singh ekes out a living delivering newspapers. The news of his mother’s death leads to a series of setbacks. The difficult struggle to make it in Europe appears to be lost. Employer Gerhard Haschka places his own mother in the care of Slovakian nurse. Until the death of Miss Haschka, the two women develop an intimacy that Gerhard is incapable of realizing. Gerhard and Amrik never encounter one another.
